The Club Hotel

This is the first post in a series where I’ll be introducing some awesome interior spaces from Singapore – the country which was my home for 8 years! Although this island country became an independent nation only 47 years ago, it’s highly urbanized and among the top 10 richest countries in the world. I find the design and architecture in Singapore to be very modern – much like its public transportation system.

Tourism being an essential part of Singapore’s economy, I’d like to start by introducing The Club Hotel, an award winning boutique hotel designed by Ministry of Design. It’s funky and chic with a hint of Singapore’s colonial past.

Sir Stamford Raffles (the British statesman and founder of Singapore) with his head in a cloud of fabric
The printed fabric on the chairs & checkerboard floor create interest in the monochromatic lobby
Undulating fabric above the check-in counter adds softness to the ceiling

The bar is a mix of modern LED technology and furniture from the colonial era

Watch out for the next post on another cool interior space from Singapore!
