This month has been a whirlwind, starting with a low-key birthday celebration and then picking up with positive responses from grad schools I applied to and visiting them! Engaging with passionate designers, architects, and professors was exhausting but fulfilling, prompting me to take some much-needed weekends off for rest and relaxation.

In this post I'm excited to celebrate Toyo Ito's recent Pritzker Prize win, which is essentially the Nobel Prize for architecture, highlighting his remarkable contributions spanning four decades. As a former design student, I've long found inspiration in Ito's pursuit of beauty through simple and timeless designs, ranging from cups and saucers to multi-story buildings. His diverse portfolio continues to influence my work, and I'm eager to share some of my favorite Toyo Ito designs in this post.

After initially dismissing wallpapers as outdated, I discovered new collections that changed my perspective. After realizing their economical benefits and ability to add texture to a space, I'm now embracing the evolution of wallpapers from surface decoration to statement pieces...especially appreciating their environmentally conscious production by modern manufacturers!
