To Wallpaper or Not To Wallpaper?

Just when I was about to write off wallpapers as passé, I stumbled upon some new collections which made me reevaluate my stance.

Of course I’m not oblivious to the fact that wallpaper has it’s benefits and may be the perfect choice in many scenarios – it’s economical because it lasts longer than paint while adding texture/pattern to a space. Even so, for the longest time I’ve considered it as surface decoration, something which covers up the true character of a wall or ceiling in a fake repetitive pattern.

Well…no more! I’m warming up to the new generation of wallpapers which have evolved from mere backdrops to being the showstoppers! The icing on the cake – all of these manufacturers are environmentally conscious too :).

Love the way the origami inspiration has been translated to wallpaper in the above collection!

  1. Hi Charu,

My name is Matt Lyons. I stumbled upon your blog and this post about one of our lines. Please email me your mailing address and I’d be happy to send you some samples. matt at Lyonswallpaper. Com

I also read that you lived in Singapore for a number of years! Some of our paper has been installed in the Marina Bay Sands Hotel there.

Hope to hear from you soon!

    Best regards,

    Matt Lyons

    • Hi Matt, thanks for reaching out. I had a tough time time selecting my favorites from your collections for this post! It would be wonderful to have some samples. I just sent you an invite on LinkedIn so we can connect to exchange details.

Which of your lines was installed at the Marina Bay Sands? Such a small world!

      Thanks,
      Charu
